Description |
Bow and Arrow- ca 1870. Hand carved wooded bow. Made of unknown material. Notched at either end. Arrows 26 inches long. Notched on the non point end. Feathers are 8.5 inches. Arrow with flat end is 23 inches. Feathers are 5 inches. Arrow with missing point is 23 inches long. Feathers are 9 inches. Nothced on each end. Given by Indians with whom he was lost by Lewis and Clark trail. Received by George Nicholson from an unknown Indian tribe in Montana while he worked on re-surveying the Lewis and Clark trails in 1870. |
