Scope & Content Rev. William C. Benshoff was born February 6, 1881 at Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the son of Benjamin and Catherine Snyder Benshoff. His marriage to Sarah Blanche St. Clair took place on June 30, 1908. Rev. Benshoff died June 10, 1948.

He served pastorates in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa and California. In addition, he served as a member of the Missionary Board for the Brethren Church, as well as on the Board of Trustees for Ashland College. He graduated from Ashland College in 1909. He was the General Conference Moderator in 1932. In addition, he also helped to establish the Pennsylvania District Brethren Youth Camping Program in 1933.

These papers were presented to the Brethren Church Archives on September 23, 2005 by David Benshoff, descendant of Rev. W. C. Benshoff.
