These article of incorporation
The Brethren Church
Witnesseth, that we, the undersigned all of whom are citizens of the State of Ohio, desiring to form a corporation not for profit under the general corporation laws of said State do hereby certify:
First. The name of said corporation shall be The Brethren Church
Second. Said corporation shall be located and its principal business to transact at West Independence in Hancock County Ohio.
Third. The purpose for which said corporation is formed is not for profit but to provide a place of worship for its members to be conducted according to the rules and disciplne of the Brethren Church, to promote the interest of the christian religions and to receive and hold donations and bequests and funds arising from other sources for the benefit of said corporation.
In witness whereof we have hereunto set out hands this fifteenth day of November A. D. 1895.

On this fifteenth day of November A. D. 1895 personally appeared before me the undersigend a notary Public within and for said County the above named Jacob P. Hazen, H. D. Krabill, M. S. White, Isaiah Myers, H. Moore, John P. Hazen and Freeman Krabill
who each severally acknowledged the signing of the foregoing article of incorporation to be his free act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. Witness my hand and official seal on the day and year last aforeside A. L. Swihart

I, Louis P. Julien, Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas within and for the County aforesaid, do hereby certify that A. L. Swihart, whose name is scribed to the forgoing acknowledment as a Notary Public was at the date thereof a Notary Public, in and for said County duly commissioned and qualified and authorized as such to take said acknowedgment; and further, that I am will acquainted with his handwriting and believe that the signatures to said acknoweldgement is genuine.

Taylor, Secretary of State of the State of Ohio, do hereby certify that the foregoin is a copy carefully compared by me with the original record now in my legal custody as Secretary of State, and found to be true and correct of the Articles of Incorporation of the Brethren Church filed in this office on the 12 day of December, A. D. 1895 and recorded in volume 69, page 158, of the Records of Incorporation.
