Rev. Marlin Lee McCann was born July 24, 1935 in Waterloo, Iowa, and died October 15, 2000 in North Manchester, Indiana. He was the son of Walter Otis and Vivian B. McCann. He married Lila J. Miller, of Smithville on April 21, 1957.
He was a graduate of both Ashland College and Ashland Theological Seminary 1957 and 1960 respectively.
He was ordined an elder in the Brethren Church in 1960 and during his ministry served the Wayne Heights (Waynesboro, PA.), Mt. Olive (Pineville, VA.), Bryan (Ohio), North Manchester First, and Milledgeville, (Ill). Brethren Churches.
He had a beautiful tenor voice and frequently sang for General Conference and on other occassions. He also sang with the Rockingham Male Chorus of Rockingham County, VA., and with the Madrigal Singers of Bryan, OH.
A funeral service was held on October 19, 2000 at the North Manchester First Brethren Church
